GBRf 66748 'West Burton 50' at Mirfield with an engineers' train working from Belmont Down Yard to Mirfield East Junction, via Huddersfield and then a reversal at Marsden.

This engineers' train, one of several on this date, was in connection with work being undertaken by Network Rail at Morley during a closure of the Huddersfield line between Whitehall Junction (Leeds) and Thornhill LNW Junction (Ravensthorpe).

The line was closed over the weekend of 28th & 29th January 2023.

Work at Morley, which forms part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), includes the relocation of the station, with new platforms c. 200m east towards Leeds.

The track formation was also due to be slewed to raise the permitted speed on the curve towards Morley tunnel.
