A view of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) work in progress around Mirfield.

Mirfield station is being revamped with platforms 1 and 2 lengthened, and a new footbridge and lifts constructed.

Under the TRU plans the existing platform 3, used by TransPennine Express, Northern and Grand Central stopping services, will be demolished to make way for a pair of new fast lines.
