The reopened Ashton-under-Lyne railway station on 31st July 2017.

This was the first day that passenger trains were calling at the station after a 3 week closure of the line between Stalybridge and Manchester Victoria. During the closure the rail bridge over Turner Lane was replaced, new track laid and realigned through the station. Station improvements were also completed including platform resurfacing.
